Typical traffic jam.

Typical traffic jam.

Thought my days of traffic were behind me when I bought Ffynnon Oer.  Funny thing is, it doesn’t matter whether it is London, NY, Paris,  or anywhere else — there is always road delays of some sort and they are characteristic of the place.  Years ago I remember being held-up for at least 20 minutes by a herd of buffalo in Wyoming.  Traffic jams are typically caused by accidents or an official cortege of VIPs in Washington DC — or — yikes — a flake of snow!  London always seems to be congested for no apparent reason at all hours of the day or night.

Traffic is different here.  This is a true agricultural community.  This isn’t farming as seen in “Country Life” magazine.  This is real hard-work  farming.

Add into your travel calculation the possibility of  delays caused by sheep, horses, really slow tractors,  milk collection lorries, and/or cyclists on narrow roadways.   Sigh.  Breathe deeply and enjoy the difference that makes our community special.

This is the view on a nicer day from the high ground down towards the village. Actually,  the traffic isn’t very bad.  I exaggerate sometimes.

One of my favourite views. The road as it drops down towards Ffynnon Oer.
